Pablo Reinoso Solo Exhibition

If you visit Art Plural Gallery from now till 3 March, you will have the opportunity to witness a link between art history and psychoanalysis. More importantly, it will allow you to regain that sense of child-like curiosity where your mind is constantly wandering off into another world.

The material object in Pablo Reinoso’s work is a vector to convey his inspiration and thought. He focuses his search on the entity, its transference, and the unconscious while using space and time as an environment. His study on functionality leads to the inner dialogue art and design, which transcends into the outer object itself. This is illustrated through the mutation of mirrors, chairs, benches and garments along with the chaos of the unknown using out five senses.

Reinoso questions the infinity, objects and space, bringing all elements to continuously play with the borders of the impossible. He always takes the road less travelled, exploring the dimensions beyond the limits of our imagination. His endless mockery, conviction and sincerity confront us, forcing the mind to wander.

For Reinoso, Design becomes Art as soon as the initial purpose loses its priority. Art opens a realm of meanings to emerge in many different ways. All the elements are at bay to collide and ride with the artwork blending harmoniously into the arena — and that is what Reinoso demonstrated with his works in the exhibition.

There is a fluidity that transcends the form of his work and the works reveal a distinctive combination of pragmatism and poetry through the architectural construction. By extending all the energies and constraints of the environment while at the same time releasing its reason, Reinoso lets life take over through the cycle of nature, creating ultimate interconnections between the location and the artwork itself. The result? An inspirational story emerges from the onsite specific entity. The Spaghetti Bench for example, is a universal park bench plays on the idea of the unconscious, letting the wood slates travel through a pictorial gesture that then becomes a work of art. That unconsciousness of the bench taps into the unconsciousness of the visitor, who will undoubtedly trace the fluidity of the material and as a result allow his or her mind to wander off as well.

It is not about going somewhere, it is about allowing yourself to let go.
