This week has been a busy week for the music industry with the Grammy’s awards that has taken over social media across the world.

Having said this, the award shows also spells the end of the 2011 reign of music artists which brings music artists anxious to feature music as they prepare to drop their albums in summer this year.

So we pick some of the music video premieres that have caught our attention this week!

Having crooned to singles all over the world via a livestream on Youtube on Valentine’s Day, Jason Mraz premieres his latest single ‘I Won’t Give Up’. This track serves as his first single from his upcoming studio album, Love Is a Four Letter Word, due out April 17th. The 34-year-old singer-songwriter teamed up with acclaimed filmmaker Mark Pellington to direct this beautiful video. Boy, Mraz sure knows how to get you emotional!
Before releasing the album, fans will get a chance to preview songs via a new live acoustic EP entitled, Live Is A Four Letter Word, scheduled for digital release on February 28. ‘Can’t Wait’ is definitely two four letter words!

Singer Kaskade premiere’s his latest single ‘Room for Happiness’ featuring Skylar Grey. The track serves as the second official single from his seventh studio album, Fire & Ice. The song is beautiful and is a very clear winner the excellent album. The visual is ruch and shows Skylar in a variety of fantasy world.

Post-Grammy, Taylor Swift is back on the charts again. This time not from her album but her latest single ‘Safe & Sound’ featuring indie band The Civil Wars. The song has been getting much attention from the widely anticipated movie adaption of The Hunger Games. This acoustic ballad will be included in the soundtrack of the movie. A simple video with no cheesy teenage hallways works for Taylor and works with the song. We’re surprised that we actually like this song! But then again, it could just be because of the movie.

Katy Perry is almost desperate to show that she is strong on her own after the break from Russell Brand. So we wonder if this song is a result of the divorce. In any case, Perry premiered the song at the recent Grammy’s and the song itself is pretty good. Ms Perry released the lyric video after the premiere of the song on iTunes.
For a bubblegum pop song it’s lyrics hold meaning, writing about how her lover mistreats her, and how she is now strong enough to resist him, that she has a part that he will never take away from her, as she boast in the chorus. It’s pretty easy to see her mark on the song – her vocals stand through, with very little auto-tuning on, although they are layered excessively in places, and certain notes you can hear the pitch correction, generally, and through the majority of the song, her vocals shine through.

Awesome write-up except for the part which labels Kaskade as a singer.

Otherwise great job!
