If you haven’t heard, WU LYF will no longer be playing in the coming Laneway Festival 2012. What a bummer! However, Brooklyn based duo Chairlift will be joining the lineup!

Consisting of Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly, Chairlift’s electronic pop sound pivots around a hazily romantic and psychedelic sense of humor for pop music. Just take a listen to their song Amanaemonesia and you’ll get what I mean.

The song is the first single off their second full length album titled Something. It was released just three days ago and it is the first album since founding member Aaron Pfenning left the band to pursue a solo career. Here’s a fun fact! Chairlift retreated into the spare room of an antique shop for a year to produce Something. Does that explain the new themes in their music that include road-rage surf, gothic pastoral, infomercial spiritual and even pizza punk?!

There’s around two more weeks to St. Jerome Laneway Festival Singapore 2012! Have you gotten your tickets yet? Tickets can be purchased at sistic.com. Paying $135 to experience 14 bands playing over a span of approximately 11 hours is so worth it and this is one music festival not to be missed!

The playing times are now out their website. Be sure to ‘like’ the facebook page and follow the official Laneway Festival Singapore twitter account for the latest updates, interviews, and information on the festival. See you there!
